Ingredients

  • 1 bunch methi / fenugreek leaves
  • 250g Paneer
  • 2 tbsp Doctors’ Choice Soybean Oil
  • 2 tbsp Ghee 
  • 1 pinch of Hing
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 black Cardamom
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Chilli Powder
  • ½ tsp Cumin powder 
  • ½ tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cup hot water 
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • ½ tbsp garam masala

Step 1: Prepare the Methi

Methi do generally have a bitter taste, so let’s start with cutting it out. Soak the methi with salt and water in a bowl for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, squeeze the water and chop them finely. Take a kadhai and heat 2 tbsp ghee and sauté the chopped methi. Once your kitchen fills up with its aroma, keep it aside. 

Step 2: Prepare the Base

Let’s dive into the main recipe now. Heat 2 tbsp soybean oil for cooking and a pinch of hing, tsp cumin, 1 inch cinnamon, 1 black cardamom, and 4 cloves. Saute it on a low flame until it turns aromatic.

Step 3: Prepare the Masala

For preparing the masala, add chopped onions, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, and sauté it until it turns golden brown. Keeping the frame low add the masalas, turmeric, chili powder, cumin powder and coriander powder after mixing it finely 1 cup tomato puree and 1 tbsp salt for the taste, and cook it well until the oil separates.

Step 4: Add the Paneer & Serve

Now add 2 cup of hot water along with paneer cubes and 2 tbsp cream. Mix gently for 5 minutes until the flavours are well absorbed. As an addition to the conclusion, add garam masala and mix it well. Your delicious and creamy methi malai paneer recipe is ready now. Now it’s time to relish it with roti or rice.
