
Mustard Fish Curry Using Physically Refined Rice Bran Oil

How To Cook
- 500 gms basa fish
- ½ tsp nigella seeds
- 2 slit green chillies
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- 3 tbsp Doctors’ Choice Physically Refined Rice Bran Oil
For the Mustard Paste
- 1 ½ tbsp black mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 2 tbsp grated coconut
- 2 green chillies
- ½ tsp salt
- Soak the mustard and poppy seeds in ¼ cup warm water for 15-20 mins along with salt. Further add the yogurt, grated coconut, and chillies in a mixer along with 2 tbsp of water and grind it to a fine paste.
- Marinate the fish with ½ tsp turmeric powder and some salt.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the nigella seeds and green chillies.
- Once they crackle, add the ground mustard paste & the turmeric powder. Chilli powder, and salt. Saute the mixture for 7-8 mins.
- Add 1-1 ½ cup of water. Check the seasoning and add sugar or salt as per the taste. Allow the mixture to come to a boil.
- Add the marinated fish and allow it to cook for 7-8 mins on a medium flame. Simmer it till the sauce thickens.
- Enjoy delicious Mustard Fish Curry with steamed rice.
