How To Cook
Ingredients:
For the Dosa
- ⅓ cup urad dal
- 1 cup rice
- 8-10 tbsp Doctors’ Choice physically refined rice bran oil
- 2 tsp garam masala
- ¼ tsp salt
For the Stuffing:
- 2 boiled and peeled potatoes
- ½ sliced onion
- 5-6 curry leaves chopped
- 1-2 finely chopped green chilies
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric
- Salt to taste
- ¼ teaspoon garam masala
- 1 pinch cumin seeds
- 1 pinch mustard seeds
- 3-4 crushed garlic
Method:
For the Dosa:
- Wash and soak the rice for 5-6 hours
- Take tur dal, chana dal, methi seeds and soak them well
- Wash and clean the urad dal and leave it overnight in a separate bowl
- Grind the rice and dal mixture with minimal water. After grinding, separate the same into a larger bowl
- Mix water to add to the consistency of the batter. Note– Ensure the consistency is neither too thick nor too thin
- Add salt to the paste and mix well
- Cover the lid and leave it for fermentation overnight
- Put a flat pan on heat. Put 1 teaspoon of heart healthy cooking oil from Doctors’ Choice and spread it evenly along with 1 ladle batter
- Sprinkle some garam masala and add few drops of butter to it
- Once cooked, take it out and decorate it on a plate.
For the Masala:
- Heat some oil in a frying pan. Add a pinch of hing to it along with mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Then add green chili, chopped ginger and garlic along with curry leaves
- Add 2 sliced onions and fry them for 2-3 minutes until brown. Then add the turmeric powder and salt to taste. Add the mashed potatoes and mix well for 2-3 minutes.
- Once done, remove it from the flame and let it cool.
- Enjoy delicious dosa and masala with hot and flavorful sambar
